How to Clean Baby Bottles in the Dishwasher
3 a.m. waaahhh, 6 a.m. waaahhh, 12 p.m. waaahhh. Babies. You know the drill. They require a lot of feedings. And a lot of stuff. And all that stuff needs to be cleaned. And cleaned again after the next feeding. Here are important tips on how to clean baby bottles in the dishwasher.
1. Ensure Items Are Dishwasher Safe
Dishwashers are great for cleaning baby items. Unfortunately, not all of the things babies need can stand up to the high dishwashing temperatures. If it’s not possible to determine whether an item is dishwasher safe, wash it by hand.
2. Location, Location, Location
To avoid melting bottles and other plastic baby items, keep them on the top rack, away from the heat source, face down. As much as you love your baby, you can't feed her with a melted baby bottle.
3. Secure Bottles
Make sure you place bottles in a way that prevents them from falling over during the cycle. You don’t want dirty wash water pooling inside them.
4. Nipple Care
To wash your silicone nipples in the dishwasher, you can place them in a basket on the top rack away from the heat source. However, we recommend washing them by hand as they may be damaged if cleaned frequently in the dishwasher.
5. Use Cascade Platinum Plus
For best results, use premium Platinum Plus ActionPacs™. It has special enzymes that latch on, break down, and wash away food particles to leave bottles completely clean and safe for your baby's use.
6. Dry Thoroughly
Run the dishwasher on the longest drying cycle.
Your baby items are now clean. Just in time for the next feeding. And while we can’t offer advice on parenting, we can give you other good ideas on dishwashing. Because you’re going to use a LOT of dishes.
